They are the pair of Kamiumi Grandwalkers, who would bore many divine beings, and would, eventually, give birth to "Amahara", also Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susanoo. Izanami, the female deity, is the empress who rules the Yomi World. Normally, she resides at her place underground, but it is said that she kept monitoring every single movement of Izanagi in the upper world.
