Trivia

  • This card is based on Orpheus, a legendary musician, poet, minstrel, and prophet in Greek mythology. He is a son of Apollo with exceptional music skills and talents. He went on the Argo journey and helped the Argonauts traveled past the Sirens by playing with his lyre (also depicted in the illustration) and overcoming the singing of the Sirens, partly reflected by the "armor"-piercing effect. His most famous story, however, is to rescue his wife, Eurydice, from the Underworld managed by Hades. The retrieval effect from Trash on summon is most probably based on that. His lyre becomes the constellation, Lyra, after his death.
  • This card shares the same origin as The Minstrel Orphe, both having a trash retrieval effect.
