Rulings

1) This card is limited to one copy per deck.

2) As Mirage is set, not used, Mikafar can't ignore the cost when setting a Magic card Mirage.

3) As Spirits are summoned, not used, Mikafar can't ignore the cost when summoning a Spirit card that's also treated as a Magic card.

4) The "when the cost is paid" effect within the Magic card can't activate if the card is used without paying the cost via Mikafar.

5) When an effect states the player can "pay one cost to use a Magic card", Mikafar can't ignore that one cost.

6) Mikafar can't ignore the cost for the "Magic negation" effect of Butterfly Jammer, as Jammer's effect specifically states "by paying the cost and discarding".

7) Even while cards with Accel or Change effects are treated as Magic cards by the effect of The YoukaiGeneral Kashaneko-Ikusa, Mikafar can't ignore the costs when using the Accel or Change effects from those cards. Mikafar only ignores the card's actual cost (the number at the top left of the card).

8) The wordings for the LV2 effect is changed after reprint, specifying that only Magic cards from hand or Removed Zone can be used without cost. Even if a player were to use the original version, which doesn't specify so, they still wouldn't be able to use a Magic card from Trash without cost (e.g. Hades Disaster).

Extra Information

This card was changed in the English version. The actual effect allows you to play magic at no cost at all times.
This Spirit appears on the package art for Bandai's set 2 booster packs.
Both Mika Kisaragi from Battle Spirits Heroes and Mika Yamabuki from Batosupi! We are the Battle Spirits Club are named after Mikafar.
The name "Mikafar" is a mash up of Michael (ミカエル) and Raphael (ラファエル), two archangels.
It appeared in the anime Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Bashin.
It is the first card to be banned in the game. However, as of January 22, 2022, it was ruled that it would instead be limited to one per deck, becoming the first card to be released from the ban list.
