The Removed From Game Zone (手元 ; temoto), shortened to "Removed Zone" as of Block Icon <5>, is a game mechanic and an area on the board. It used to be located next to the Void, but as the official Extreme Games show, it is now located directly under the Field. Cards may only be put into the Removed Zone by the result of an effect. Once there, they can be played normally during the Main Step and flash timings, just as how cards are played in the hand. Unless specified otherwise, cards in the Removed Zone must be placed face-up, so that the opponent may also see them. While in function it resembles a second hand, the Removed Zone cannot be affected by effects designating the hand itself. Despite what the name suggests, placing cards to this area does not equate to banishment or otherwise negate their use.
