BS07-016

Infernal Lord (冥主; meishu) is a family in the Battle Spirits trading card game.

It premiered in BS06. Infernal Lords are primarily Purple, with a few exceptions. They are in general human-shaped evil beings, and have higher positions and power when compared to some other families in Purple. As a result, it isn't as common a family as other major Purple families. A major theme of the Infernal Lords is the 72 demons of Ars Goetia. Examples include: The HellBeastKing Oselo, The HellGovernor Hagen, The HellLibrarian Dantalian etc.

In Contract Era: Realm, Infernal Lord becomes the major sub-family of The Infernal Partner, Camus, and all variants of Camus holds the family. The primary family of Camus, Infernal Contract, most probably derives from this family as well. While it puts the family under the spotlight again, since Camus as a deck revolves around the Blood Crystal and Infernal Contract families instead of Infernal Lord, direct support are still absent for the family, and it can't be presented as an "Infernal Lord deck."

On the collaboration side, Infernal Lord is used by a lot of the human-shaped villains across franchises, like the Seijins/Kaijins/Dopants/Greeed etc. The character doesn't have to be a "villain", however, as it is mainly used to represent those alternate lifeforms in the corresponding shows that share the same tribe as the villains. Thanks to the convenience of using the family on the collaboration side than the main sets, the number of Infernal Lords from the collaboration side is greater than that from the main sets.
