The second episode of the anime series Battle Spirits: Gallet's Revolution.
Synopsis[]
Varte's and Gallet's duel continues. As they battle, Als Glynnhorn recalls the events that led up to their fight. What is final decision that awaits them at the end of their battle and how will it affect their futures?
Summary[]
The episode once again starts off with Vizarga reading out the content of the Journal of Otherworld, this time chapter 12 verse 64, 'As there are two paths unattainable with ease, having gone through, it bestows the title Bearer of Light upon you.'
The scene then jumps to the battle between Gallet and Varte continued from last episode. During the battle, they question and deny each other's goal. They then turn to a flashback from when both of them visited the grave of Lucian Parx, when they agreed with each other to become the saviors of the world as the Core Bearers. However, returning to the present, their teacher Als Glynnhorn had stated that the two of them drifted apart from that point onwards. Then the scene jumps to another flashback, featuring a close relationship between Gallet, Als, Varte, Snow McClain and Morgan Baxter. That moment was also Varte's first time revealing his secret underground base to them, and stating his goal of starting a revolution against the United Government and setting up a new government led by Mauves. Varte also revealed his ideology of controlling by brute force, showing the others his weaponry. While Snow agreed with Varte, Gallet had a different idea. Staring at the guns, it reminded him of his father's death. He wanted a more peaceful method, and purposed to search for the truth of how Lucian's deck list was leaked out first, but Varte immediately dismissed him by claiming Graham Leonard being the culprit, without any evidence.
The scene then switches to Gallet and Varte on a motorcycle, stopping near Vanilla. When Varte asked, Gallet explained his father was searching for a card which he believed could change the world. Varte gave his regard on Gallet's father's death. Gallet and Varte then visited Lime, Cook, and their other companions. Varte and Lime also exchanged their first greetings. In Lime's office, she showed the two men evidence of Zephyr Try acting suspicious behind the scenes. One of the screenshots also showed Graham involved. Looking at Leonard's secret account book hidden within the Underweb, Varte was slightly shocked that he was evading tax and oppressing Mauves.
In the evening, Gallet and Varte visited Graham's mansion. When talking to Graham in his office, Varte went straight to the point that they knew Graham's movements. They proposed a deal. If Graham did not want to lose his position as the chairman, he would have to admit to public that he leaked Lucian's deck list. However, Graham laughed it off, claiming that the datas they had were fake, and he was not afraid of appeasing to the court. Realising they would not be able to negotiate further, Varte suddenly took out a gun under his blazer and pointed it at Graham. Upon seeing that, Graham started to waver. Gallet stood between the two, stating that if Varte did that, there would not be a future for the Mauves. Hesitating to open fire, Varte's hand was shaking. Graham saw this as a chance and attempted to flee, so Varte made a shot, only to have the bullet brushing past Gallet's cheek, causing him to have a narrow bleeding wound. Hearing the gunshot, the guards rushed in and imprisoned Gallet and Varte.
In the prison, Varte stated that he hoped Gallet would understand the meaning of using brute force, in which the aim was to use justifiable means. While Gallet continued to object Varte's ideal, Als sneaked in and helped the two escape. In Als's car, she informed them that Graham stepped down from the United Government, and now Gallet and Varte were wanted by the same government. Gallet then asked for a Battle Spirits game to decide their "tomorrow".
The episode finally returns to the ongoing game, where Varte summons The ExplosiveSupremeDragon Explode-Dragon for the first time in front of the others, describing his key card as his destiny. When Gallet was about to win, Varte asked in despair why he would not agree with him, in which Gallet simply asked back, "Can you still be proud of your way in front of Lucian?" Instead of answering, Varte accepts Gallet's last strike and loses the battle.
After the battle, Gallet prepares to leave and asks what the others plan to do. Morgan, Als and Snow state their intentions to stay at the school with Varte. The episode ends with Gallet bumping into Vizarga on the way back to Vanilla. Vizarga then introduces himself to Gallet and congratulates him for becoming aware of his status as a Light Core Bearer.
