Trivia

The name is a reference to the Taiwan based building Taipei 101. Located in Taipei, this tower is a symbol of Taiwan, and is 101 stories high, hence the 101. The Formosa comes from the Portugese Ilha Formosa, meaning "Beautiful Island", which was a former name for Taiwan.
