Dark Hour (影時間; lit. Shadow Time) is a family debuted in CB33, and is a key concept and phenomenon that occurs in the Persona 3 series which serves as the background for the fight between the S.E.E.S. members, Strega members, and Shadows. It is essentially an extra hour, the 25th hour, that occurs every night during 12:00 AM, hidden between one day and the next.
During Dark Hour, normal persons who aren't Persona users would be transmogrified into coffins and remember nothing that happens during the Dark Hour. Making use of such nature, member of Strega, Persona users with a slight different background to most of the S.E.E.S. members, take the time as a chance to pursue their goals. Shadows would also become active and manifest during the Dark Hour and attack those who wandered into Dark Hour without being transmogrified into coffin. Meanwhile, large scale ones, like Priestess, the fragments of Death, would appear during the Dark Hour of days of full moon.
As the physical world would be completely altered during Dark Hour, places familiar to one might appear entirely different during so. A good example is how the Gekkoukan High School became Tartarus during Dark Hour.
For the reasons mentioned above, the family is hence owned by the Strega members, their Personas, the Shadows, Tartarus, and lastly, Pharos and Mochizuki Ryouji, who are the cores to the revival of Death.
The family covers Spirits, Nexuses, and Grandwalker Nexuses, and is primarily supported by Mochizuki Ryouji.
