As the name and effect implies, Contract Skill is a remake of Grand Skill, corresponding to the Contract Grandwalker Nexuses this time.
While it is still triggered by sending the designated amount of cores from the Grandwalker Nexus to the Void, and the effect timing or effect contents differ between each Contract Skill, all of them come with a counter increase effect. Unlike Grand Skill which either shares equal importance with Grand Field or serves purely as a magic-alike effect, Contract Skill is a main source of counter gain in the decks using Contract Grandwalker Nexuses, and are crucial to build up the counters for Contract Field. While Grand Skill often conflicts with Grand Field that requires cores on Grandwalker Nexuses such that players are forced into a dilemma of choosing, using Contract Skill actively in turns contribute to a faster building of Contract Field, making the two effect similar on the surface but very different in actual uses.
Unlike the relationship between Neo-Core Charge and Core Charge, Contract Skill is a brand-new effect that is NOT counted as a variant of Grand Skill. Hence, effects that target Grand Skill don't work on Contract Skill.
