Cloud Contract (雲契約;un-keiyaku) is a family introduced in BS60, possessed exclusively by the Contract card The PartnerBird Feaniel, and the Yellow cards with Contract Advent in the same set. The family is a representation to the contract which the wanderer Dan made with Feaniel in the lore, and since all the Yellow cards with Contract Advent are technically a variant of Feaniel's power, they have the Cloud Contract family as well.
Play Style[]
As currently all cards in this family are either a Contract card or a Yellow card with Contract Advent, the deck highly revolves around the Advent mechanic. As part of the new series after the age of Rebirth cards, it also plays around high numbers of counters to differentiate themselves from the previous cards. Cards in this family are also always paired with the Golden Cloud family, often along with a tertiary family which is mostly irrelevant to the play style of the deck, so the play style may overlap with other Golden Cloud family cards.
It is advised to put Feaniel in the starting hand, as she is a crucial starting card for the deck. With her effects, the player is able to build up counters while increasing hand size, plus when the counters increase to three or more, they can summon Cost 3 or less Spirits without paying the cost, with the most suitable targets being Another Pentan and The BewitchingPrincess Mizua. With Mizua and Arcanabeast-ClubPanda, the deck is able to lock down opposing Nexus effects. Then, with the Advent effect of The HunterDivineBird Saker-Falco, the deck is able to remove opposing Spirits.
When the number of counters reaches eight, it is time to Advent The PhoenixPrincess Feaniel, drawing four from the bottom of the deck, and summoning enough Spirits from hand without paying the cost to commit a lethal attack. With Feaniel's Over Count effect, the player can use a Yellow Magic card immediately, in which the best target being Sanctified Light, which prevents the opponent from blocking and using cards without the Yellow color from hand. Then, with the effect of The Angelia Farciel, the opponent is unable to end the Attack Step. The player then can just attack with their Spirits one by one to finish the game.
As the deck's win condition depends highly on locking the opposing hand, if the opponent had hand protection, everything would become risky. Fortunately, the protection usually comes from Nexuses or small Spirits, which the deck can easily negate. Another weakness which the deck faces is Burst effects, as it currently has no effect negating Burst. One solution to this is using The SuperstarApostle Spitzer Dragon to discard the Burst, but since a lot of Burst in the current have unaffected effects or can respond to discard, it is not a guaranteed solution either. Assuming that the Burst is a removal effect, another solution to this is The WhiteCloudWhale Physeter, whose Burst effect can activate when one's own Spirits are destroyed or returned to the hand or deck, and can summon more Spirits from hand without paying the cost, ensuring more attackers.
