Personality[]

Chihiro is an artistic person with a quiet and gentle side. However, she seems to have a condescending attitude to others when it comes to Battle Spirits.

Biography[]

Chihiro is a white card battler, and a member of Team Tegamaru. Though actually a girl, she dresses and acts as a boy. This is partially in opposition to her parents, and their wealthy lifestyle. When dressed as a boy, she considers herself a separate person, changing "his" last name from Kusakabe to Kusaka.

She liked to draw spirits, even pausing in the middle of a battle to work on a piece and was interested in becoming a spirit designer one day. At one point, She considered giving up that dream, and threw out her sketchbook. Tegamaru found it, and inspired her to once again love her dream. That was also the beginning of their friendship.

Chihiro battled against Hajime, who needed to defeat both her and Kobushi to battle against Tegamaru. She lost the battle, but declared it didn't count, because Hajime didn't win using his own deck.

During the red preliminary block of the Hero Championship, she was defeated. She didn't try to enter in the High Ranker League and continue on.

Hajime and the others found out her true gender when she ran away from home to avoid having to get married, and give up on the future she wanted. Chihiro battled against Tegamaru, and won, thus earning the chance to live as she wanted.

During the world tournament of the Hero Championship, she and Kobushi were depressed over how much Tegamaru changed after acquiring Amaterasu-Dragon. Although they continued rooting for him, and watching over him, he refused to let them near him, saying that he chose a new path without them. After Tegamaru won the championship and defeated Arata, she broke down crying watching him leave.

Chihiro temporarily returned to her parents house, but was called back by Kimari, to help in setting up a battle between Tegamaru and Hajime.

At the end of the series, Tegamaru makes up with Chihiro and Kobushi, using both their key spirits in his battle and declaring that Team Tegamaru is undying. He also gives Chihiro a new sketchbook, which she takes back home to continue her work towards being a spirit designer.
