At the end of the battle, every Magic card you used during this battle returns from your Trash to your Hand.
Brilliance is a keyword which allows a player to recycle used Magic cards from the trash, so to preserve resources. Most Spirits and Ultimates possessing Brilliance have relatively low BPs. As such, if there are no external supports, it is a frequent occurrence where a Spirit or Ultimate cannot remain on the field at the end of battle to activate Brilliance. However, the Brilliance keyword allows the players to make use of Magic cards outside of the Yellow color, especially with effects which allow the free use of Magic cards, such as with The ArcAngelia Mikafar.
As one of the first Yellow keywords, Brilliance also has a few derivative keywords spawned from it, including Evil Light and Heavenly Light.
