Welcome to the Battle Spirits Wiki

Battle Spirits, (バトルスピリッツ) is a two-player collectible card game developed by Bandai, Sunrise Inc, and Carddass. The card game is part of the Battle Spirits franchise which revolves around several anime series, manga and the merchandise of toys and video games. Battle Spirits is similar to the TCG Duel Masters but is more evolved as it involves a core system which is used as a resource system for your players. I would like to welcome you to this wiki and I hope that you can be part of our community.

The goal of this wiki is to list every card, set, trivia, gallery, ruling, type of Deck, tournament structure and every anime, manga and video game. If you're a committed Battle Spirits player, or just stopping by, feel free to add in little details to the appropriate sections on this Wiki.

Thank you.

Featured Card Spotlight
King's Command
This month’s card I am going to talk about the Magic card King’s Command, first released in SD24 during the Ultimate era. Being a Blue defensive card, King’s Command is a card that you do not often see, but it is always lurking around somewhere. What is so special about King’s Command is that it is the only Blue Magic card that prevents the opponent from attacking, essentially acting as a defensive Magic. However, I suppose its bigger usage is still the Burst effect, which allows the user to draw three and drop one from hand.

During the Rebirth era, the amount of players using this card suddenly rose, and so did the price skyrocket. To cause such an effect, it was none other than a Blue deck. It sounds like tons of bullcrap, though an interesting fact is that the card was used not for that Blue deck, but against that deck. That deck is the Blue Primal deck, which often has The RouseSeaEmperor Valshark as the finishing card. And this card has such an effect that neither player can use non-Blue cards from hand when it attacks. King’s Command was immediately dug up by players to avoid this dangerous situation.

Besides the flash effect, King’s Command's Burst effect, the “draw three then drop one” effect, which activates upon an opposing Spirit’s summon effect, gives the user a net gain of two cards in hand. So even if the flash effect is somehow unusable in the game, you can still use the card for a free two draws. Ever since the God Advent era, there also has been a staple of summon effects in every deck due to the introduction of Godseeker cards, leading to King’s Command being able to be triggered very easily. With such utility, not only Blue decks, but every kind of deck can always make use of it, just like Burst Draw.

However, recently, the ratio of Blue Primal deck in meta is gradually decreasing, causing King’s Command also less seen. King’s Command as a defence card also is not that superior, especially since it still requires targeting the opposing cards, meaning if they were unaffected, King’s Command would be useless. Even in Blue decks, while King’s Command has the priority over White Magic cards for more reduction symbols, there are also other more popular cards such as Seize Glory to be used. And in general, King’s Command was so demanded in the market that its price went skyrocket, so when there are so many alternative options, King’s Command really got swept under the rug.

At the end, King’s Command is simply a relatively old card that was given the attention due its sudden rise in price. However, while there are other cards that can easily outrun it, there is no doubt it is still generic enough to be considered when building a deck.

This is the last card review of 2020. I wish you all a happy new year, and stay safe.
