Amahara (アマハラ) is a family exclusive to Grandwalker Nexuses. It premiered in BS49.
Amahara is a family that is based on Japanese mythology, hence all characters in this family are Japan deities. The name, Amahara, stems from "Takamagahara", the dwelling place of the Japanese gods and goddesses in mythology.
The faction was first briefly mentioned in SD43 as one of the four known factions in Divine World before Uru became a thing with Lolo becoming a Grandwalker. Amahara is said to be the faction with the smallest territory but longest history among the four. Game-wise, Amahara also has the least number of Grandwalkers made into cards. Its supreme deity is Grandwalker Amaterasu. Despite so, since Amaterasu has been acting as an observer and recorder for very long, the actual power falls into Tsukuyomi's hands. Just like the relationships in myth, the three Amahara deities introduced in Ultra Advent era, Susanoo, Tsukuyomi, and Grandwalker Amaterasu are siblings in lore. And Izanagi & Izanami, introduced at the end of Rebirth era, are their parents.
As a key feature, Grandwalker Nexuses in the faction (family) all come with exactly two colors, and govern two families. For example, Susanoo is Blue/Red, and governs Ocean Emperor and Terra Dragon. With the exception of Izanagi & Izanami, all Amahara Grandwalkers come with two Avatar, one in each of the two families governed by them. (Izanagi & Izanami's Avatar is a Rebirth Spirit that has its A side and B side corresponding to each of the two families so technically it also suffice.)
In the events of the Ultra Advent Saga, Amahara's forces, led by Susanoo and Tsukuyomi, stood in a gray area in the war against Zeus-Lolo, seemingly allied with Alex's forces while also conspiring with the enemy. It is later revealed that Amaterasu is the author of the Genesis Records, and has been observing whether Alex is suitable to be her successor as the leader of the Grandwalkers, and what happened until then. Possessing the power to return things to what it originally was, Amaterasu successfully separated Lolo from Zeus-Lolo together with the help of the other Grandwalkers.
Towards the end of Rebirth era, Izanagi & Izanami were introduced as the actual creator of Fragment-Hexa, the ancient Grand-Lolo, and were restrained by Chronos' troops. The incident took place before Amahara even existed, and before the birth of the three Amahara siblings.
The main illustrator of the Amahara faction is Takayama Toshiaki (タカヤマトシアキ).
