Extra Information

Based on the actual youkai with the same name in Japanese Folklore, Amabie (アマビエ). It is a mermaid-like creature, and legend has it that her appearance promises fertility and health. In the story, she told those who witnessed her appearance that by showing the painting of her to those who are sick, their illness will be cured. The story and Amabie herself becomes a viral trend on the internet during the rampage of Covid-19. Many artists published drawings of Amabie at that time, hoping that the pandemic could end soon. The release of this card was most probably related to such trend.
